Designed to educate and inspire

LeadWell’s programs are based on the latest wellbeing research along with high performance strategies from the world of elite sport and are designed to educate and inspire your people to care for their wellbeing and amplify their resilience.

Our wellbeing is constantly in a state of flux: from thriving, when we are feeling good and functioning effectively, to struggling, as we navigate the natural highs and lows of life.

Australian workplaces provide an opportunity for people to engage in ongoing learning and development, meaningful achievement, and connection with others, which nourishes their wellbeing.

When employees are able to feel physically, mentally, emotionally and socially well, they are able to bring more energy, focus and motivation to work and thus be more productive in their work.

At Aleda we are inspired to facilitate interactive learning environments to provide your people with the education and tools required to care for their wellbeing and amplify their resilience. In addition, LeadWell programs are aimed at improving individual and team performance and enhancing the emotional connection within your teams.

ACS is an eight-week deep dive into the coaching mentality. It synthesises advancements in the field while empowering coaches to build resilience to handle the intense pressures of their career through the support and mentorship of peers who simply ‘get it’.

The magic of ACS is the cross-sporting-code format of the group, which is handpicked so strictly only one team is represented from each code. This creates the unique trusting environment needed to fast-track collaboration and learning.  ACS members benefit from invaluable wisdom and insights from their peers. Facilitators survey the coaches’ players to gather authentic feedback that is used to customise each coach’s learning journey.

Coaches learn techniques to continue the practices of self-reflection and problem-solving for the rest of their lives. The benefits flow on to their players, their organisations and their loved ones. Conducted remotely via Microsoft Teams, the ACS fits into the schedules of sports’ busiest professionals. There are also opportunities for members to meet face to face, health guidelines allowing, including at the Aleda Summit on 28th October 2021.

As I head to the Olympics, I want to thank you all. How very privileged I feel to have been invited into this group of fellow coaches. I cannot begin to describe how valuable your insights have been and what a special bond I feel with each of you. Our meetings have really helped me clarify my approach in the lead up to Tokyo. I have benefitted enormously from listening to your wise counsel and your experiences. The hardest thing with this job was taking it. What I came away with is I should, and can, just be me! Give it everything. Right now it’s win, learn and stay in the moment! Thank you for your ongoing support!

Why we started ACS

ACS was founded in 2020 by action-based learning trainer and lifelong sports fan Matt Wadewitz, who has observed more than 1000 educators and leaders, and has for the past five years been working closely with high-profile AFL coaches.

Matt saw that elite-level coaches were missing an opportunity to discuss the big issues in their jobs with others who ‘walk in their shoes’ in a mutually supportive, non-competitive environment.

With COVID-19 restrictions accelerating the shift to video conferencing, Matt recognised it was the perfect moment to launch ACS – an innovative way to deliver the evidence-based learning strategies he had long used and harness the collective brainpower of a group with decades of experience.

The LeadWell Way

1. Evaluate & plan

Our evaluation process provides reliable insights on how your people, teams and workplace are doing when it comes to their wellbeing performance with the evidence-based PERMAH Wellbeing Survey.

From there we work with you to plan specific team and organisational interventions and measure on-going results.

2. Learn, reflect & collaborate

We engage your people in interactive workshops where they learn the science behind caring for their wellbeing and can build a depth of skills and knowledge to help them thrive.

Workshop participants reflect on their daily well being habits and collaborate with fellow team members on how best to support themselves and each other.

3. Implement small actions

Each workshop delivers small actions your people can immediately implement to care for their wellbeing.

Participants are encouraged to reflect on their individual PERMAH Wellbeing Report between workshop sessions and trial evidence-based actions and interventions suited to caring for their specific wellbeing needs.

4. Coaching to habit

Our Wellbeing Performance Coaches provide one-on-one coaching to support your leaders and team members in building habits to care for their wellbeing and improve work performance.

The Coaching to Habit model is about walking shoulder to shoulder with your most valuable assets and assisting them to live out their Personal Wellbeing Plan.

Meditation

At Aleda we consider the practice of meditation the greatest gift we can provide our wellbeing. Extensive research shows the two most effective strategies to care for our overall wellbeing and increase our levels of happiness and life satisfaction are regular exercise and a daily practice of meditation.

Recent advances in neuroscience have shown meditation builds our brain muscle, by positively rewiring our neural pathways to perform better under pressure, experience less stress and anxiety and be more alert, calm and focused.

Over 350 peer reviewed scientific studies have also revealed a daily practice of meditation can have the following benefits to our wellbeing:

  • Increase in self-awareness and positive emotions
  • Improved emotional regulation and self-control
  • Improved memory and learning ability
  • Improved sleep quality
  • Increase in energy and vitality
  • Decrease in inflammation and improved immune function

Meditation is one component of aleda’s wellbeing programs. We take joy in inspiring people to learn the art of meditation and experience the profound impact meditation can have on their lives and the lives of those around them.

I have a greater sense of my wellbeing and that has allowed me to have a clearer mind and positive mindset with my students. I have also noticed how settled the students are after our meditations and they are ready to learn immediately after.
The meditation has changed my life. It has allowed me to feel better mentally and I am achieving more within my day. I am able to think clearer and make better decisions throughout the day.
Breathing Techniques was a session that really stood out for me. Following the 10 min breathing exercise I felt significantly calmer and more relaxed
It was the clarity that I needed in my life especially the session on identifying how my job can align with my personal values.
I think the reminder to practice gratitude and the importance of functional breathing was great. I didn't realise that mouth breathing could have detrimental impacts, I constantly wake fatigued even with 8 hours sleep so will be interesting to see if there are changes when I start bringing awareness to nasal breathing.
I have a greater sense of my wellbeing and that has allowed me to have a clearer mind and positive mindset with my students. I have also noticed how settled the students are after our meditations and they are ready to learn immediately after.
